The Meaning of Reading: Passing Down Culture and Wisdom Through Stories

The most effective family education comes from warm companionship and learning by example.
Reading is a lifelong habit that helps children grow in heart and mind.

The Chinese character “故 (gù)” tells a story of its own —
the left radical means “ancient,” symbolizing knowledge passed down through generations;
the right radical represents “education and inspiration.”
From ancient times to today, the power of stories lies in their gentle yet enduring way of sharing wisdom and values.

Our Philosophy: Bringing Warmth and Depth to Overseas Chinese Education

At Tong Le Chinese, we believe learning Chinese abroad should go beyond language instruction.
It should integrate language, literature, history, science, and philosophy,
so that children not only understand the language, but also the culture behind it —
developing critical thinking and creative minds along the way.

Through storytelling, visuals, and sound,
we build meaningful contexts and spark imagination —
helping children move beyond rote memorization and discover the true joy of learning Chinese.
